The Ministry of Transport & Communications (MoTC) recently announced the opening of nominations for the Qatar Digital Business Awards 2021.

The awards have been introduced in 2016 to celebrate the digital transformation in the State of Qatar and to honour small, medium and emerging enterprises based on their contributions to the development of the digital sector.

It has never been more critical for businesses to embrace technology due to the limitations with the recent pandemic. Enterprises in all shapes and sizes have adapted their business models with new digital solutions as a mean to survive.

As a result, the MoTC recognises the need to build a solid ecosystem for information and communication technology (ICT) in the State of Qatar. It understands that the presence of innovators is a vital element. Therefore, the MoTC introduced a new award category for the most innovative solution to respond to Covid-19.

This year’s awards are in eleven categories including ICT Service Provider of the Year, Systems Integrator of the Year, Mobile App of the Year, Cloud Solution of the Year, Digital Startup of the Year, Smart Solution of the Year, SME Digital Transformation of the Year, E-Commerce Solution of the Year, Innovative Fintech Solution of the Year and ICT Exporter of the Year.

Those wishing to participate in the Qatar Digital Business Awards 2021 have to apply through the website of the MoTC by July 17. A panel of experts and specialists will judge the submissions in a new format in line with Covid-19 related health and safety measures. The winners will be announced in August online.
